Sorry, I have some bad news: things that were not a priority 2 years ago do not magically became a priority as time goes by.
There are usually 2 categories:
- It was not a “top initiative”. In this case, as long as we keep finding better “top initiatives” it will always be a second priority
- It is some sort of internal tool and the teams goals are not aligned with improving efficiency or whatever other internal KPI this initiative helps with. Until we do not change goals/strategy it will not be a priority.
Remember that product management is about saying no most of the time.
